Nocturnal Leg Cramps
Can Vitamin B complex help with nocturnal leg cramps? The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology reports that one study found a reduction in intensity, frequency, and duration of nighttime leg cramps in patients who took Vitamin B complex. These were compared with patients taking a placebo over the three-month course of the study. Check with your doctor to see if B complex would be appropriate.

Fruits and Vegetables Win Again
Eating fruits and vegetables regularly may lower your risk of diabetes.

In a study conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it was found that participants who developed diabetes had consumed less fruits and vegetables than those who remained free of diabetes. The researchers recommend five or more servings of fruits and vegetables per day, which is the standard recommended quantity.

High Blood Pressure and Caffeine
Men with high blood pressure should be especially careful with their caffeine intake. In a study conducted at the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center, men who had high blood pressure suffered a fifty percent jump in their reading when taking caffeine.

Men with borderline high blood pressure and those taking medication to lower blood pressure may be wise to reduce caffeine consumption. Better safe than sorry.
